Israel-Iran Conflict Escalates: Israeli Minister Calls for Removal of Iran’s Supreme Leader After Hospital Attack
Tensions spike as Israel blames Iran for missile strike on hospital. Israeli minister says Iran’s supreme leader “can no longer be allowed to exist.”

The Israel-Iran conflict has intensified after an Iranian missile strike hit a hospital in Beersheba, southern Israel, prompting a harsh response from Israeli officials.
Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, issued a strong statement against Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, saying he “can no longer be allowed to exist.” According to Katz, Khamenei personally ordered attacks on civilian areas, including hospitals.
The strike set Soroka Hospital ablaze, with Iran claiming it targeted an Israeli military intelligence site. The attack has fueled concerns of broader escalation, especially as over 200 lives have already been lost in the past week of fighting.
President Donald Trump hinted at possible U.S. military involvement. Sources from the White House told Bloomberg that retaliatory U.S. strikes could happen as soon as this weekend.
Russia quickly responded, warning the United States not to intervene. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated that such involvement “would radically destabilize the entire region,” urging Washington to avoid even hypothetical scenarios.
The conflict began after Israel launched airstrikes on Iran, fearing it was close to completing a nuclear weapon. Prime Minister Netanyahu vowed Iran would "pay a heavy price" for the attack, while global leaders watch closely as the situation unfolds.
